Frequently asked questions
Quick answers about booking, paying and visiting Valen Wellness in Aloha. Most questions about a specific appointment are best answered by your provider.
Booking
How do I book an appointment at Valen?
Go to our booking hub, pick a category and a service, then choose a provider. You book in that provider’s own system, usually without leaving the hub. Their confirmation comes from them.
Do I need a Valen account to book?
No. Valen does not run client accounts. Some providers’ booking apps may ask you to create an account with them, and that account belongs to their business.
A service says Opening soon. What does that mean?
It means no provider is booking that service yet. Join the waitlist on the service page and we will email you once, when the service opens. You can browse every service on our services page.
How do I change or move my appointment?
Use the link in your provider’s confirmation, or contact the provider directly. Valen cannot see or change appointments in a provider’s calendar.
Can I book for someone else?
Many providers allow it, but each one sets their own rules. Check when you book, or ask the provider before your visit.
Payments
Who do I pay?
You pay your provider directly, in their own booking or payment system or at your appointment. Valen does not take payments for independent providers. The only exception is the laser hair removal studio, which Valen runs and which you pay Valen for.
How much do services cost?
Each provider sets their own prices. When a provider is booking, their prices appear on the service page and their provider page, marked as set by that business. Laser prices are on the laser page.
Does Valen hold deposits?
No. Valen does not collect or hold deposits for independent providers. If a provider asks for a deposit, it goes to them, under their own policy.
What payment methods are accepted?
Each provider chooses what they accept. Their booking page or confirmation usually lists it. If you plan to use a health savings card or similar, ask the provider first.
Who do I contact about a charge?
Contact the provider who charged you, since the payment went to their business. For a laser studio charge, contact Valen.
Cancellations
What is the cancellation policy?
Each provider sets their own cancellation and late arrival policy. You will see it when you book, and it is usually in your confirmation too. Please read it before you book.
How do I cancel?
Cancel through the link in your provider’s confirmation or contact them directly. Valen cannot cancel appointments for independent providers.
Can Valen waive a cancellation fee?
No. Fees for independent providers are set and collected by their business, so only the provider can decide on them.
I am running late. What should I do?
Contact your provider as soon as you can. Many providers book back to back, so a late start may mean a shorter service or a new time, depending on their policy.
How do I cancel a laser hair removal session?
Use the link in your laser studio confirmation or contact Valen. The laser studio policy is shown when you book.
Parking and arriving
Where is Valen Wellness?
We are in the former dermatology suite at Aloha Medical Dental Square in Aloha, Oregon, close to Beaverton and Hillsboro. The address and a map are on our Visit page.
Is there parking?
Yes. There is on-site parking at the plaza.
How early should I arrive?
Plan to arrive a few minutes early, especially on your first visit, so you have time to find the suite. Your provider may ask for more time if there are forms to fill out.
Where do I wait?
Have a seat in the shared waiting room. Your provider’s page shows where their room is in the suite.
I need help getting in. What should I do?
Tell your provider when you book so they can plan for you. Details are on our accessibility page.
Independent providers
Are Valen providers employees of Valen?
No. Each provider at Valen Wellness is an independently owned business. Valen Wellness does not employ or supervise them. They rent a private room and run their own business from it.
Are providers licensed?
Yes. Every provider must hold a current license to work at Valen. Each provider page shows their license type and number with a link to the state license lookup, so you can check it yourself.
Who do I contact with a question about my service?
Contact your provider. They know your appointment and your history with them. For questions about the building or this website, contact Valen.
Why do prices differ between providers?
Each provider is a separate business and sets their own prices, services and policies. Compare them on our providers page.
I am a provider. Can I work at Valen?
Licensed beauty and wellness pros can rent a private treatment room. See what is included and apply on our rooms for pros page.
Medical services
Who provides medical services at Valen?
Medical services such as injectables and IV hydration are provided only by independently owned medical practices. Valen does not provide, supervise or advise on any medical service.
Will I be evaluated before treatment?
Yes. A licensed provider from the medical practice evaluates every client before treatment and decides whether the service is right for you.
Should I share my health information with Valen?
No. Please do not send medical information to Valen through any form or email. Share it only with the medical practice, in their own system.
What results can I expect?
Results vary from person to person. The medical provider can explain what is realistic for you during your evaluation.
Who should ask before booking a medical service?
If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, have a medical condition or take medications, ask your own clinician first, and tell the medical provider during your evaluation.
Laser studio
Who runs the laser hair removal studio?
Valen owns and runs it. Your sessions are done by an esthetician employed by Valen who holds Oregon’s laser hair removal certification.
How many sessions will I need?
Most people need a series of sessions spaced several weeks apart, because hair grows in cycles. Your technician will suggest a plan after looking at your skin and hair. Results vary.
How do I prepare for a laser session?
Shave the area as your technician directs, and avoid waxing, plucking and tanning beforehand. You will get full prep steps when you book. See the laser page for details.
Does laser hair removal hurt?
Many people describe it as a quick snap, like a rubber band against the skin. Redness and mild swelling afterward are common and usually fade. Your technician will explain the risks before you start.
Which areas can be treated?
Common areas include the face, underarms, bikini and Brazilian, legs, arms, back and chest. Current prices are on the laser page.
Can I get laser hair removal if I am pregnant?
Many providers wait until after pregnancy. Ask your own clinician first, and tell your technician before you book.
